Most enthusiast keyboards are too loud for a shared home office. The Q1 HE, with the stock silicone and foam layers, is a genuinely muted board with a low-pitched thock rather than a clack.
The Hall-effect switches let you set actuation between 0.2 mm and 3.8 mm per key. For typing we settled around 1.8 mm, which cut typos noticeably compared with a standard 2.0 mm mechanical.
It is heavy — 4.4 lb — which is a feature on a desk and a problem in a bag.
